If you’re a fan of “outrageous” antics and music you’ve heard countless times at this point, you’re definitely going to want to tune in to the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. If you’re wondering who the nominees are, be sure to check over here. There is once again no host this year, but Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale will be on the pre-show. From Time:
[T]he show itself will have no host, preferring the likable chaos of a steady stream of surprise guests and unlikely pairings. (What would you expect from a show that announced its nominees via Snapchat?) Non-surprise guest presenters include Lorde, Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev and cast members from Orange is the New Black.
As for the the performers this evening, it’s an interesting slate that is sure to grab a few headlines in the morning:
Beyonce (Also up for the Video Vanguard award, so she’s poised to own the show)
Five Seconds of Summer (The token boy band at the show)
Maroon Five
Nicki Minaj (You have to expect something special considering her “Anaconda” video and the fact that someone got bit with a snake yesterday)
Taylor Swift (Most likely replicating that weird ass video of hers)
Charli XCX
Sam Smith
Ariana Grande (Maybe she’ll awkwardly kiss someone and be a little psycho? Maybe?)
Fifth Harmony
Iggy Azalea (In a wheelchair most likely)
