Break out the good confetti. Last night featured the first live Yeah Yeah Yeahs performance in quite a while. Specifically an “it’s been years and aren’t we on ‘hiatus?’” while.

The aligned forces of frontwoman Karen O, guitarist/keyboardist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase were on display at a Tribeca Film Festival afterparty as part of an all-star combo that also included Jaleel Bunton of TV on the Radio fame and Money Mike. The shindig was held at New York’s Dream Hotel to celebrate the screening of Shot! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock which focuses on music photography luminary Mick Rock.

Sky Ferreira, TVOTR’s Tunde Adebimpe, ex-Dum Dum Girl Kristin Kontrol and Gogol Bordello singer Eugene Hutz all lent a hand at multiple points during the covers-packed set that pinballed from David Bowie to Prince to The Ramones and beyond. The pulsating Fever to Tell classic “Date With the Night” also made an appearance and that’s an always welcome development. Toss it next to Blondie and Velvet Underground tunes and you’re in safe hands.

Unsure if you’d like to hire YYYs + Pals for your next afterparty function? Consult the footage of last night’s throwdown and sort out the Pros and Cons for yourself.
