Watch Georgia State’s Hilariously Indecisive Kick Returner Struggle To Figure Out Where He Wants To Run

Week 1 always features certain moments of hilarity in which football players try to work out the kinks and shake off the rust they developed in the offseason, and we got one of those glorious moments during Friday’s Georgia State-Charlotte game.

Georgia State’s senior wide receiver and kick returner Avery Sweeting fielded a kick in the third quarter of the matchup and proceeded to struggle hard when it came to deciding where to run. Sweeting changed directions about a half-dozen times as he attempted to find an open lane to carry the ball, but ultimately he just ended up looking like a chicken running around with its head cut off.

An underrated portion of this sequence is Georgia State linebacker Niemus Bryant (#34) basically tackling a member of Charlotte’s kicking team and laying on top of him, pinning him to the turf for several seconds while Sweeting tried to figure his situation out. Yeah, that’s probably the easiest holding penalty of all time.

But thank you to Sweeting for providing us with one of Week 1’s funniest ‘derp’ moments, which is obviously better when set to “Yakety Sax.”
