Warning: Wearing Skinny Jeans WIll Destroy Your iPhone 6 Plus

For the past week, everyone’s been waxing poetic about Apple’s latest installment in the iPhone series. The iPhone 6 plus is a monster compared to previous versions. It’s slimmer, sleeker and it has a whopping 5.5 inch display. But it looks like bigger isn’t always better, especially if you’re a fan of wearing tight pants. There were bound to be problems with the newest iPhone but we never imagined its biggest opponent would be the fashion staple of hipsters everywhere: skinny jeans.

Several new iPhone 6 plus owners have taken to Macrumors forums to post horror stories of what happens when they leave their iPhone 6 Plus in their pocket for too long, namely, the phone bends, and Apple products do not, repeat DO NOT bend. According to one forum poster, sitting on the phone for long hours isn’t something the 0.28 inch device can really handle:

Yesterday, I left at 10am with the iPhone in my left FRONT pocket of my suit pants. I drove 4 hours to a wedding, which also involved a lot of sitting during dinner etc but also 2-3 hours of dancing. I left at 2am and went to bed, driving home 4 hours back.

So in total, the 6 Plus was about 18 hours in my pocket while sitting mostly.

As I lay it on the coffee table and sat down on the couch to relax from the drive (yes, sitting again ), I saw the reflection of the window in the iPhones slightly distorted.

Wearing tight pants doesn’t help the problem either so you might want to start every pair of burning tight pants with pockets that you own. Then again, and this may just be us, but wouldn’t a case solve this issue? Just sayin.
