UPDATE: And it’s gone.
Prepare to say your goodbyes because the hit game Flappy Bird is going away forever! I think. I’m not exactly sure, but it’s happening according to the game’s creator, Dong Nguyen.
What is the reason for this exodus? Supposedly because of articles like this one and tweets talking about how popular the game has become. From Kotaku:
The creator of Flappy Bird, the difficult, barebones mobile game whose mere existence roiled video games discussion over the past two weeks, says he will remove the game from the Android and iTunes marketplaces within 22 hours. “I cannot take this anymore,” he Tweeted today.
I haven’t played the game myself, having seen the above video and knowing that stress doesn’t end well for me. But it is sort of funny how the guy who created a frustrating and severely difficult game is threatening to remove said game because of the difficulty and frustration involved with having created that very game.
Success is clearly a double-edged sword, but it’s still easier to navigate than Flappy Bird is at this point.
