They might have teased us that things were coming to an end in the epic Season 5 trailer, but IFC announced today that Portlandia will stick around for another two seasons. Currently in the middle of its fifth season, Portlandia is slated for two more 10-episode seasons, and Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein couldn’t be happier:
“We are so excited to get to do more Portlandia with IFC. Getting to work with Jon [Krisel] and our talented writers and crew, it really is our favorite thing in the world. Also, we get to spend more time in Portland!”
Considering how kinky things can get in Portland, who could blame them for being so psyched?
No release dates for the new seasons were announced, but at least we know there is a future for the town that lives in the 1990s.
