Brooklyn Nine-Nine continued its strong sophomore season last night with an episode about Jake (Andy Samberg) hooking up with a defense attorney played by Eva Longoria, and that is officially all the analysis you are going to get out of me because I need to get back to watching this Vine of Andre Braugher shouting “HOT DAMN” over and over until I die.

Seriously, though, how good is Andre Braugher on Brooklyn Nine-Nine? The show is chockablock with comedic performers and somehow the classically-trained dramatic Actor (capital A) has ended up being the funniest part of the show. A big part of that is the way they use him, which is similar to the way Parks & Recreation uses Ron Swanson: Slow, calm, and reserved for huge chunks of time, but then suddenly, with alarming quickness, someone’s shouting “HOT DAMN” or drunkenly dancing with a tiny hat on. It’s like a boxer lulling his opponent into a comfort zone with a series of jabs, waiting for the moment he catches his adversary on his heels a bit. Then, once he does… THWACK.

Third-round knockout. Still the champ.
