Adam McKay And Funny Or Die Are Bringing ‘Archie’ To Broadway

Adam McKay is no stranger to broadway. The Anchorman writer-director previously directed Will Ferrell in 2009’s You’re Welcome America, and now he’s teaming with Archie Comics to bring Archie to the stage. McKay isn’t slated to direct the broadway adaptation as of right now, but he’s on board to write it. The musical will be headed by Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater and chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who helped bring Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark to the stage.

There’s no word yet on who will be starring in the play, but McKay released a statement describing the show as “bright, colorful and slightly demented.” McKay is a partner of the comedy site Funny or Die, which will be presenting Archie.
