I’ve seen and heard people make arguments about this event or that event being the one to potentially break the internet, but I’ve long maintained that nothing will break the Internet and its fragile little heart like Betty White’s death will when it eventually happens. It could be another ten years before that happens — after all she does appear to be pretty spry for a woman in her late 80s — but when it does the Internet will be the saddest place in the world, just you wait, because Betty White is the Internet’s grandma.
With that said, I finally got around to watching the clip of her doing the Top Ten on Letterman last night after having it open in my browser all day (Honestly, I got wrapped up in other things and forgot about it…SORRY!), and she was delightful and funny as she always is. No wonder I’m still seeing references to her appearance on the show last night in my feeds. Betty White just nails it. I just hope to live as long as she has, much less make appearances on national television to tickle millions before they go to bed at night. What a goddamn treasure this woman is.
