Gotham isn’t exactly subtle when it comes to introducing major Batman villains, like next Monday’s episode title ‘Harvey Dent.’
Trying to close the Wayne murder case, a young Harvey Dent (guest star Nicholas D’ Agosto) and Gordon team up, much to Mayor James’ (guest star Richard Kind) chagrin. Meanwhile, Penguin makes contact with Mooney’s (Jada Pinkett Smith) secret weapon, Liza (guest star Mackenzie Leigh) in the all-new “Harvey Dent” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Nov. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Fox has released six clips from the episode featuring Selina Kyle staying at Wayne Manor, Alfred teaching young Bruce Wayne how to fight, Gordon having a chat with Mayor James, Oswald Cobblepot paying a special visit, and Harvey Dent flipping double-headed coins.
If I could give a brief note to the writers of Gotham, I would say to be a little more obvious in pointing non-comic book-reading viewers towards Harvey Dent’s future as Two-Face. I don’t think the two-faced coin or the pontificating about luck are enough clues. If they really want to do it right, they need to bring in Aaron Eckhart as a recurring guest star to stand off to the side of the screen with a flashing neon sign that reads, “THIS IS TWO-FACE. RIGHT HERE, THIS MAN NAMED HARVEY DENT. HE IS TWO-FACE. GET IT?”
