Everyone’s looking for a shot. And right now, the NBA is looking to give it to you. On Sept. 24th, the NBA D-League will be holding national tryouts in both Chicago and Los Angeles for all you ballplayers that are trying to get one step closer to realizing your dreams. Have you ever had the chance to showcase your skills in front of player personnel executives, coaches and industry scouts? Here’s your opportunity.
Via full-court games, each national tryout will challenge D-League hopefuls looking to gain eligibility for the D-League Draft in November. And once you’re there, that’s only the beginning. Over the past two seasons, the D-League has sent 47 different players to the NBA, while 23 percent of all NBA players at the end of the 2010-11 season had played in the NBA’s official minor league at one time or another.
Players wishing to participate must be at least 18 years old and meet D-League eligibility requirements. Registration forms and the player release can be found here: www.nba.com/dleague/tryouts.
Those completed forms, along with $150, need to be received by the D-League by Sept. 16th. The participation fee includes the opportunity to play in front of D-League scouts and player personel. All materials must be received by the deadline and completed in their entirety for you to be considered for participation in the national tryout. Note: Receipt of all necessary materials does not guarantee that you will be given the chance to participate.
Will we see you there?
