Brooklyn Nets Unveil Alternate “Brooklyn Dodgers” Jerseys

When the Nets moved across the Hudson River and East River to settle in Brooklyn’s alien ship, the Barclays Center, they ditched their old blue uniforms in favor of a sleek black look. Now, as an homage to the Brooklyn Dodgers, they’re planning to wear alternate blue and grey sleeved jerseys that resemble the old uniforms of the last professional sports team to reside in Brooklyn.

Sources told ESPN that the Nets will first wear the Brooklyn Dodgers-inspired alternates against the Boston Celtics on March 21. They’ll wear them four more times as part of “Brooklyn Blue Nights,” before the season ends.

The Dodgers last played in Brooklyn during the 1957 season before being moved to Los Angeles. Since that time, no professional sports team has resided in Brooklyn until the Nets moved to town in the summer of 2012.

The Brooklynettes Dance team will also wear Brooklyn Dodgers colors on the nights in question.
