Stephen Curry Hears MVP Chants In Brooklyn During Blistering Fourth Quarter

The crowd in Brooklyn last night watched in awe as Stephen Curry found his sweet spot and unleashed a full arsenal of offensive brilliance in the fourth quarter. With 18 fourth-quarter points, including back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers with under four minutes remaining after the Warriors fell behind by 10, the Brooklyn crowd finally gave in and started chanting “MVP,” for the opponent.

Per the CSN Bay Area, comes Steph’s stunned reaction to the applause on his behalf in an opposing arena:

“I kind of forgot where I was for a second, to be honest with you,” Curry said after the 110-108 loss to the Nets. “I think they just had so much bottled up excitement because nothing happened in the first and then all of a sudden it started getting going and we had a big contingency of fans.”

“I just went out and looked around and was kind of like, ‘Where am I?’ kind of deal because it was loud in there.

“You love that kind of support on the road and at 46-12, we’re a team that is hopefully destined for great things and to have that kind of support is huge.”

Steph’s quick stroke is just unstoppable sometimes:

Curry wasn’t just hitting from long-range during his fourth-quarter explosion, either. He was also fooling defenders with just the threat of another bomb from downtown. Witness this hesitation before splitting two Nets defenders for the layup:

Curry finished 8-of-16 and 6-of-12 from beyond the arc for a team-high 26 points, including 18 in the fourth. He added seven dimes, but turned the ball over four times in Golden State’s third loss during their recent six-game East coast swing.

After the game, Steph spoke about the MVP chants and his defense when Jarrett Jack hit the game-winner with 1.1 seconds left.
