Tony Parker Has Been Cleared To Play In Game 3 Of Clippers-Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs won’t be full-strength for Game 3 of their epic first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. But at least Gregg Popovich’s squad will be something very close to it.

After being listed as questionable for tonight’s game on Thursday’s injury report, Tony Parker has been cleared to play despite tightness in his achilles. Here’s San Antonio’s current injury report courtesy of its website:

Please be advised of the following injuries for tonight’s game vs. L.A. Clippers:

Aron Baynes (soreness, right ankle)- Doubtful

Tony Parker (tightness, right Achilles) – Cleared to Play

Baynes played 20 minutes in the Spurs’ Game 1 loss but didn’t appear during Wednesday’s contest. He’s aggravated an existing ankle sprain suffered last month.

Parker, on the other hand, left Game 2 with several minutes remaining in the fourth quarter after a wholly ineffective 30 minutes of court-time. The 32 year-old has dealt with an ailing lower body all season long, even entering San Antonio’s huge win with soreness in his left ankle and quadriceps.

Either way, Parker’s teammates are confident he’ll be able to play through the pain and bounce back from Game 2’s lackluster effort on Friday night. Via ESPN:

“I didn’t doubt he was going to [play],” forward Tim Duncan said after Friday morning’s shootaround. “I’m glad he’s feeling better. He’s ready to rock. He’s hoping to have a good one tonight.”

The Clippers and Spurs tip-off from the AT&T Center at 9:30EST on ESPN.
