LeBron James Is So Excited About The Return Of Basketball, He Broke Into This ‘Dab’ Dance

On Monday, the Cleveland Cavaliers held their annual Wine and Gold scrimmage. For some, it was the first real organized basketball of the season, being that the Cavs haven’t yet played their first preseason game (they tip off against the Hawks at 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday night). So, that meant there was some genuine enthusiasm on the Cleveland side that yes, they were going to play some real five-on-five basketball and not just run through drills like they’ve been doing at do-a-day practices since camp opened.

No one seems more excited about this than LeBron James, who broke out the above “Dab” dance move as Cleveland was warming up. What the hell is a Dab dance? It’s an Atlanta-based dance move that took off this past summer where it almost looks like people are sniffing the crook in their arm.

It supposedly took off when Peewee Longway and Migos started doing it, but it’s also the wax-like form of cannabis that kids are smoking (kids are weird). Regardless, it’s a dance and people are doing it, including LeBron, apparently.

During the scrimmage, camp invite D.J. Stephens threw down a nice alley-oop and the Gold team won, 55-49, with Quinn Cook leading all scorers with 13.

LeBron started for the Wine team and scored five points — including a breakaway dunk after a steal, and a 27-foot three-pointer — on 2-of-7 shooting in 12 minutes. According to Chris Haynes of the Northeast Ohio Media Group, he’s “in midseason form.”
