DeMarcus Cousins Thankfully Thought Better Of Sucker-Punching Steven Adams

DeMarcus Cousins is as combustible a player as there is in the NBA. He could have 50 points one game and have to be escorted out of the arena the next. You never know which Boogie you’re going to get.

On Monday night in Sacramento, Kings fans and a national audience on NBATV got a little bit of both. DeMarcus had a stellar game with 35 points and 12 rebounds, but in the fourth quarter, he nearly had a meltdown. After getting tangled up with Thunder big man Steven Adams — no stranger to on-court tussles himself — DeMarcus took offense to Adams holding onto his leg for a beat too long and cocked back a punch over Adams. Thankfully, Cousins showed a little restraint and didn’t throw the blow, but for a split second, it looked like things were going to get ugly.

In the end, Cousins’ eventful night wasn’t enough to get the Kings over the hump, as their 131-116 loss was just another in another abysmal season for the franchise. And that wasn’t Counsins’ only dust-up of the game as he also locked horns with Kevin Durant in the first half. Just Boogie being Boogie, I guess.
