Make no mistake: refereeing an NBA game is incredibly difficult. These are world-class athletes zipping, racing and leaping all over the place at near superhuman speeds. Referees have to make snap judgement calls, and it’s impossible to get every foul call right. But…come on. Really? James Harden clearly fouled Jeff Withey here. It’s not even a debate. Who’s to say whether Withey could have tied the game with the ensuing free throws, but to not even be given a chance is ridiculous.
The Jazz lost the game, 93-91.
