J.R. Smith had himself a night in the Garden on Friday, and he carried that momentum with him all the way back to Cleveland. The Cavaliers point guard was instrumental in helping LeBron James and company wallop the Boston Celtics at home in a Game 2 that was over well before the half.

Smith got to punctuate that first half with a spectacular desperation buzzer-beater that decimated the Celtics and the Boston home crowd before they ever had a chance to sense a comeback. Not even the dirty plays Smith predicted came Cleveland’s way.

Here’s the shot, which put the biggest possible exclamation point on the first half for Cleveland.

Super impressive that he got that off and that it fell in the first place. But check out what he does before the official gets in the way and his teammates mob him on the court.

Most times it’s a bit early to think about a sweep, but after the first two games of this series it’s not crazy to think that JR is on the right track here.

Smith spent the rest of the evening gleefully retweeting the Cavaliers team account, adding highlights of the demolition to his timeline.

He then spotted former NBA player James White talking about the Wizards, and how Bradley Beal thinks the Zards could have played the Cavaliers a bit tighter than Boston has this series.

Smith wasn’t having any of that.

After the night Smith and the Cavs had, it’s hard to imagine anyone in the East beating them. And he’s right about one thing: even though it was a blowout, Cleveland sure put on a show Friday night.
