Karl-Anthony Towns Had The Perfect Reaction To Finding Out His ‘NBA 2K18’ Rating

Everyone handles rating day differently. For NBA 2K18 cover star Kyrie Irving, he choose to use his rating as motivation. Others will simply settle for being better than other, more vocal NBA stars.

Karl-Anthony Towns falls into the latter category. The Minnesota Timberwolves star was told his rating at the video game’s commercial shoot and had a classic reaction to the news that he’s in the top tier of players.

Towns was asked what he thought his rating should be, and he had a logical answer: higher than last year.

“I remember last year I was an 87-88 I believe, so I think I should be higher,” Towns said. When he was informed he was a 91, though, he stopped thinking of himself and immediatly thought about Joel Embiid, who said that his rating was “bull crap.”

“Really? Ha, I can’t wait to tell Joel. I have nothing to complain about. I do trust the process with that one, I do trust the process.”

It’s a cool reaction from Towns. First he’s happy, but he was even happier because he knows it will probably bother Embiid that he’s happy. Here’s a player who wanted to be another 91, DeMar DeRozan.

DeRozan also happens to be the Canadian cover star, but he came up a bit short with an 89 to start the season. He, too, had a good mindset about it: there’s always room to improve.
