Looking Back At An Incredibly Young Kobe’s First TV Interview With Craig Sager

The praise was high for Kobe Bryant when he first came into the NBA. From all the jargon that surrounded him upon his immediate entry, you’d think he was selected higher than No. 13 in the 1996 NBA Draft.

Now, on the final day of Bryant’s NBA career and 20 years after that draft, let’s review Kobe’s first interview as an NBA player, one he had with Craig Sager shortly after hearing his named called when the Charlotte Hornets selected.

Bryant would be traded to the Lakers for Vlade Divac shortly thereafter.

On a more important note, though, what is more sartorially jarring: Sager’s completely mundane and normal suit, or Hubie Brown’s awesome, ’90s-style glasses?
