The Valuable Lesson Steve Kerr Learned From Draymond Green’s Unfortunate NSFW SnapChat

Not even Steve Kerr, the notoriously zen and unflappable coach of this historically effective Golden State Warriors team, is immune to the whims of the internet. That’s what he learned when Draymond Green’s slippery fingers got him into trouble last week.

“All I know is I’m one click away from making a horrible mistake, I know that. That’s what I learned from Draymond’s mistake. We’re all one click away,” Kerr said in a recent story by ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

The internet should be ashamed of itself if its vortex of oversharing and non-stop lewd humor becomes so strong that a clearly disinterested old dog like Kerr gets sucked into it. Green, of course, is a habitual line-stepper whose private parts landing in the inboxes of interested American citizens is close to manifest destiny.

Shelburne’s story offers insight into the unique bond that Green and Kerr share.

“With Draymond, he’s obviously the one guy that sort of walks the line, tows the line, he’s had some issues during the season, whether it’s being demonstrative on the floor or the locker room or whatever, or getting suspended,” Kerr said in the report. “But the thing with Draymond, and I learned this from [Michigan State coach] Tom Izzo … He said ‘Draymond is going to make you pull your hair out sometimes, but he’s such a great guy and a team guy and he’s got such a huge heart that he’s always going to come back around.'”
