Jelly Donut Oreos Are Becoming A Decadent Reality For National Donut Day

How has your National Donut Day Eve been? Have you put on your honey-glazed tunic and sung all the relevant pastry carols? Have you sacrificed a Boston Cream upon the appropriate altar steps? Are you embracing your inner Homer Simpson? Fantastic, because Oreo has an obscenely decadent offering they want to shove in your celebratory donut hole. BEHOLD: The Jelly Donut Oreo is nigh!

Creme licking enablers Oreo have cranked out a limited edition creation that is exactly what it sounds like. Sold exclusively at Walmart, the treat (which comes in the familiar Oreo cookie convertible packaging) combines the golden version of the cookie with a ring of custard and a raspberry jelly center. It’s not really a donut, but it’s more donut-adjacent than the bulk of Nabisco’s snack shelf. Caligula would be so jealous and he SUCKED so that’ll show his dumb ghost ass/

These hybrid treats will become available just in time for the June 2 NDD celebration and will bid adieu after an unspecified run on the shelves. If you play your cards right, you can go whole hog and get both the Jelly Donut Oreos and the returning nostalgia crack that is Oreo O’s cereal. That sounds like a wholesome breakfast, right there.

By Oreo standards, doing the mad scientist thing to create Jelly Donut Oreos isn’t the nuttiest thing they’ve trotted out. Not by a longshot. Some of us still wake up screaming over the memory of those special Peeps Oreos. That said, we applaud Nabisco for their attempts at innovation. C’mon Big Snack, give us some more of those home run swings.
