The Bayou Country Superfest is exactly what it sounds like — a huge country music festival in the bayou, New Orleans to be exact. Previously held in the more obscure Baton Rouge, this year the fest has moved to NOLA and will boast a pretty fantastic lineup for country fans. Over Memorial Day Weekend, on May 26, 27 & 28 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Miranda Lambert, her ex-husband Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn (!), Rascal Flatts, and more will all perform. These major names will be joined by Hank Williams Jr., Brett Eldredge, Old Dominion, Jon Pardi, Dan + Shay, Chris Lane, and Maddie & Tae.
If that isn’t a stacked lineup, I don’t know what is… a Brooks & Dunn set is pretty rare in 2017 and I am very stoked that Maddie & Tae are getting this kind of billing as well. New Orleans has always been a very musical city, but this joins Jazz Fest and Voodoo Fest as the third event of the year that I would consider traveling down south just to attend. As Nashville becomes a more prominent American city due to the success of the show, and country music itself is becoming more mainstream, let’s hope awesome events like this continue to pop up all over.
