DJ Khaled Is Taking Over The 2016 VMA Pre-Show As Host, So Bless Up

The 2016 VMAs has decided to not play itself by letting master motivator and premier music mogul DJ Khaled handle the kickoff festivities. According to Billboard, the Lion himself will be hosting the pre-show for the massive event that is honestly still a bit of a mystery thus far. As of now, we know that the list of performers will include the immortal pop princess Britney Spears, the young crooner on the come up Nick Jonas, hip-hop kingpin Future, and a potential performance from Rihanna, as she is the recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

But four performances does not make a show. While we’re positive more performers will be revealed as we inch closer to the show’s date in four days, still, the secrecy around the show is a bit unnerving. With that in mind, at least we have a bit of additional news about the pre-show: three performances will take place that you likely wouldn’t want to miss. The openers who will take the early stage will include the “Classic Man” himself, Jidenna, as well as Danish sadboy rockers Lukas Graham and R&B powerhouse Alessia Cara.

And in addition to the pre-show, Khaled will also be a correspondent on the main ceremony with Charlamagne Tha God and Lizzo. So yes, much of the show still has much to reveal, but we at least know that tuning in early is a high priority. That is if you’re smart, loyal, grateful, etc.

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will air at 9 p.m. ET on MTV with the official Pre-Show beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
