Paramore’s ‘Told You So’ Is The Perfect ’80s Pop Song For Welcoming Summer

It’s been a while since Paramore released its self-titled fourth album in 2013; Four years, to be precise. Hayley Williams stans don’t have to wait much longer for a new album, though, since After Laughter is set to drop on May 12. We’ve already heard lead single “Hard Times,” and today, the band shared a music video for another new track, “Told You So.”

The song premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show today, and the video features the group driving around in simple-but-bold red outfits that just might establish 2017 as the year of the beret. The song itself is a super fun indie pop-rock tune that borrows from the ’80s and sunshine. That aesthetic is very much in line with “Hard Times,” so it looks like we might have ourselves an upbeat and joyous summer album on our hands.

Notably, After Laughter will be the band’s first album without bassist Jeremy Davis, who left the group in 2015. Despite the loss of the last remaining original band member aside from Williams, it sounds like the band is in a great place and ready to give us a fine set of tunes for playing in the car with the windows down.
