Kendrick Lamar Thinks President Obama Should Come To Compton For Some One-On-One

As much as it hurts to say, President Barack Obama will soon be a man with a lot of free time on his hands. But if the former POTUS is looking for a way to kill time, his favorite rapper has some suggestions. Kendrick Lamar challenged the president to a game of basketball on Lamar’s home turf in an interview with Complex.

Kendrick said he wants Obama to meet him at Gonzales Park in Compton for “a little basketball.”

“He needs to work on his jump shot a little bit,” he said. “I’ve been trying to bring him out, that’s why I’m throwing shots at him right now.”

This needs to happen if only for the image of Kendrick Duckworth getting dunked on by a 55-year-old man in mom jeans. Don’t get me wrong, Lamar is untouchable at his chosen profession — Obama certainly isn’t going to take him down in a rap battle — but Barack towers over the 5’5 rapper behind To Pimp A Butterfly. If Obama has any post game to speak of, K Dot is in trouble.

Jokes aside, Lamar doesn’t think we’ve seen the end of Obama trying to do good in the world. He told the rap magazine that he thinks the president will return to his community organizing roots once he leaves the White House.

“From the conversations that we’ve had, I think he’s gonna be in the communities still, heavy,” he said. “He will be there and be effective inside the urban community and communities around the world.”

Given the relationship between Obama and Lamar and Kendrick’s own political bent, it’s not exactly far-fetched to see the two coming together for some community initiatives. But they can hash that out after Obama wrecks him at a game of hustle.
