What’s On Tonight: You’re Killing Us, Tuesday Nights

Awkward (MTV, 10 p.m.) — Once a great night of television anchored by Justified, Tuesday has become the new Monday. It’s a wasteland, where Awkward is the best thing going until New Girl returns next week. Of course, only three of you probably watch this, so this means nothing to you, but Matty and Jenna grow distant in tonight’s episode. Good. I hope Matty grows distant right the hell off this show.

Flip It to Win It (HGTV, 8 p.m.) — Oh, good: They’ve turned the house-flipping reality shows into reality competitions, as teams now flip houses to see who can make the most profit. The interesting wrinkle (I guess) is that the buyers purchase the houses at auction, sight unseen. GRAB YOUR POPCORN.

Hart of Dixie (CW, 8 p.m.) — This is a show that airs on Tuesday. Rachel Bilson is on it. I don’t watch the show, but Rachel Bilson’s dress has me seriously reconsidering.

Splash (ABC, 8 p.m.) — After initially strong ratings, Splash has dive-bombed in recent weeks, which serves ABC right for bumping Happy Endings to Friday. I guess the novelty in watching D-list celebrities do the cannonball wore off.

Deadliest Catch (Discovery, 9 p.m.) — Someone mentioned last week that Deadliest Catch is worth a mention. Wish granted.

Defiance (Your DVR) — If you were still on the fence with Defiance, last night’s second episode demonstrated the the new SyFy series may actually have legs, as it provided a somber, lower key episode. I’d say put aside any hesitation, and fire it up.

Fringe (Netflix, Anytime) — Hey, the entire series of Fringe has just been added to Netflix, and it’s a sure sight better than anything else on tonight, and probably better than Hemlock Grove. Give it a shot.
