We Must Posses This: A Batman Fan Is Selling A Real, Working Batmobile

Batman fans sometimes have deep pockets, building turbine-powered batmobiles, Bat-themed home theaters, and personal batcaves. If you’re one of those vigilante billionaire types, you can now get a one-of-a-kind Keaton Batmobile replica at auction for an expected £70,000 – £90,000 (US$113,000-$145,000). This batmobile, based on the one introduced in 1989’s Batman, will be auctioned at Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands, Surrey, this November 30th.

Care for some bat-specs? It has a straight six 3.2 liter Jaguar engine, automatic transmission, and can hit 60mph in under 5 seconds. Did we mention the FULLY OPERATIONAL FLAME THROWER?

Special crime fighting gadgets include a fully operational flame thrower at the rear, hydraulic suspension enabling the car to be lifted a further nine inches off the ground, a smoke release mechanism, remote full releasing electronic canopy, remote ignition and full LED running lights, dashboard display and front and rear cameras complete the specification. The only downside we see — besides accidentally setting your garage on fire or getting too much sex — is that the visibility from inside the batmobile is restricted. Edward Bridger-Stille from Historics auctions told Metro, “It is a smooth driving car however there’s not a lot of all-round vision. It’s a bit like a fighter jet in that sense.”

Eh, who needs to see the road when you’ve got a batmobile? People better know to get out of the way.

It’s impressive and all, but this is still my favorite bat mobile:
