‘Better Call Saul’ Is The Season’s Highest Rated New Cable Series

Before Better Call Saul even premiered, it was already being compared to two other titular spin-off shows. Would it be an unnecessary vanity project starring an actor from a beloved series (Joey), or would it be, y’know, good (Frasier)? With the benefit of hindsight, we now know it’s neither. Better Call Saul is in a class by itself because even the most optimistic Vince Gilligan fanboy didn’t think it would turn out so good so fast. And overwhelmingly popular.

Better Call Saul proved to have remarkable stamina over the course of its freshman series, solidifying its status as cable’s No. 1 new series of the year. With complete live-plus-three day ratings now accounted for, Better Call Saul nabbed an average 5.9 million viewers over the course of its ten-episode run. (Via)

It’s safe to say that Better Call Saul Chicago sunroof’d all over its cable competition.
