Sunny Delight Reenacted Their ’90s ‘Purple Stuff’ Commercial With A Modern Day Twist

Sunny Delight might have finally taken ’90s nostalgia too far by reenacting an adorably dated commercial from the ’90s.

More than two decades after the commercial first aired, Sunny Delight, now called “Sunny D,” checks in on Mrs. B and her group of rambunctious rollerblading tweens. How are they doing? Well, Mrs. B is a little older, a little wiser, and a lot less thrilled to be buying enough Sunny Delight for her unemployed adult son and all his friends to guzzle down. She’s also a little shocked that her son spent the last two decades rollerblading with his friends instead of going to college, getting his own place, or developing better taste in orange drinks. Then again, if she’s still stocking her fridge with a gallon jug of “purple stuff,” maybe this is a problem that starts at home.

All the ’90s reunions and reenactments are getting a bit much. The Little Rascals reunion was cute, and that Mighty Ducks reunion was fun, too. Reenacting a Sunny Delight commercial, though, is kind of silly.

Check out the original commercial below, back when Mrs. B was the “cool mom” and her son helped with the groceries.
