What’s On Tonight: Killers, Couples, Rock Stars, And Astronauts (Not All On One Show)

NOTE: Hannibal and Aquarius have been moved to Saturday nights on NBC.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll
(FX, 10:00 p.m.) — The band asks Johnny (Denis Leary) to write songs without the, ahem, inspiration of booze and drugs, which seems counter intuitive, no? Like, the only thing more rock & roll than writing a song while under the influence is blowing up a hotel toilet and driving a Chrysler Wimbledon into an ornamental pond.

Married (FX, 10:30 p.m.) — Lina and Russ learn the hard way that being friends with someone doesn’t necessarily mean you should trust them to host your 40th birthday party. Also, that you probably shouldn’t be having birthday parties unless you’re turning 16 or 116.

Rectify (Sundance, 10:00 p.m.) — Amantha has a meltdown at a management seminar next to a guy who looks like he’s in charge of the dressing room at the Gap. She explains her past and basically tells everyone in the room that she’s got a killer living on her couch.

Astronaut Wives Club (ABC, 8:00 p.m.) — Astronaut Wives goes full West Wing, as John Glenn hits the campaign trail in his run for the Ohio Senate, while Alan Shepard is forced to face the fact that astronauts can’t astronaut forever.

Beauty and the Beast (The CW, 8:00 p.m.) — Cat and Vincent play The Bourne Identity and try to battle the assassin tasked with taking them out. To get him away from their loved ones, they leave town and threaten to elope, which is a win-win because no one wanted to burn a vacation day to go to their destination wedding, anyway.

Mistresses (ABC, 9:00 p.m.) — You know what they say about “Best Laid Plans”… well, it usually doesn’t have anything to do with sleeping with your boss’ mistress and inadvertently opening up a new professional opportunity for yourself in the process, but live and let live, right, Harry?

Wayward Pines (FOX, 9:00 p.m.) — Pilcher cuts the juice to Wayward Pines, causing the “idyllic” town to go dark as Nurse Pam pleads with him to reconsider in the season finale. Also, the first generation cooks up a plan of their own (probably in a cauldron because, ya know, that whole no power thing).

Complications (USA, 9:00 p.m.) — John gets all picky and choosy about the circumstances under which he’s willing to work outside the law when Gretchen asks for his help. Guess her rep on the streets just isn’t hard enough to intimidate him into straying into that gray area.

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Cobie Smulders, Judd Apatow, Mark Duplass and Life of Dillon on Corden; Katie Holmes, David Wain & Michael Showalter and Sage the Gemini with Nick Jonas on Fallon; Colin Farrell and Meghan Trainor on Kimmel; Jake Gyllenhaal, Ashley Benson and The Yes Men on Meyers.
