‘The Walking Dead’ Actors On What Advice They’d Offer Their Characters

The Walking Dead’s sixth season kicks off on October 11, a short two and a half weeks from now. So of course, AMC is flooding their channel with little promos, behind-the-scenes features, and interviews with the cast to get people excited for its return. An interesting one features the cast answering this question: What advice would your season six character give your first season character?

Here’s some of their answers, along with our advice on their advice.

Norman Reedus to Daryl Dixon:

“It’s okay to be you. You can be a dirty, angry redneck with a heart of gold. It’s okay.”

Advice Grade: A++
Advice Addendum: Don’t be afraid to give them sweet girls at conventions an extra tender redneck squeeze during photo ops. And maybe keep your creepy breast implant collection to yourself.

Lauren Cohen to Maggie Greene:

“She would say don’t think about it. Just do it, trust your gut.”

Advice Grade: B-
Advice Addendum: Drop that terrible Southern accent. The sooner the better!

Danai Gurira to Michonne:

“Start the healing process. Stop fighting it.”

Advice Grade: D-
Advice Addendum: Sorry, we can’t accept any advice that would make Michonne less of an awesome badass, even if it’s better for her overall mental health.

Sonequa Martin-Green to Sasha:

“To open up to people, now! Don’t do it later because it’s going to come to bite you.”

Advice Grade: C+
Advice Addendum: This sounds like code for “My character is going to die this season.”

Andrew Lincoln to Rick Grimes:

“Deal with it. Get your sh*t together, Grimes.”

Advice Grade: A+
Advice Addendum: Seriously, this. If the government got a dollar for every time a Walking Dead fan muttered these words, the national debt would be paid off.
