Last week, Gotham introduced us to its new big bad, hypnotist and sister-obsessed weirdo Jervis Tetch. We also discovered Bruce’s twin isn’t just evil but kind of weird, and that Gotham is totally doubling down on this whole “Penguin as Trump” plotline. And that leads up to another fun time tonight as more evil plans unfold!
Gordon’s life would be a mess even if he weren’t fighting a creepy hypnotist: Alice, it turns out, is somebody Jervis wants just for her superpowers. Oh, also his former fiancée is dating Mario Falcone, a doctor who is incredibly lucky that Nintendo does not seem to exist in the Gothamverse, or otherwise he’d be saddled with “Doctor Mario” for the rest of his natural life. Bruce’s clone Five, meanwhile, in addition to being able to take a beating from Alfred, is helping Selina track down a newly matured Ivy, while being creepy. Bruce and Alfred have to stop him before he executes his evil plan, which appears to mostly be trying to get into Selina’s heart and/or pants.
Oh, and also, Nygma is out and among the allegedly sane again, and really, seeing Cory Michael Smith and Robin Lord Taylor team up will probably be the highlight of the episode. The two of them doing an Odd Couple routine last season was hilarious, and seeing that revived with a political edge should be great. We’ll find out tonight at 8 p.m. EST. Join us, won’t you?
