Watch A Bunch Of Familiar Characters Do Battle In A New Extended Trailer For ‘Gotham’

Here’s a brand new extended preview of Fox’s upcoming Batman prequel series, Gotham. It’s got everything you’d expect to see in an extended preview: Mild exposition! Gunshots! Tense moments! Introductions to the characters! A guy getting beaten up in an alley by Jada Pinkett Smith! (Maybe that last one is a little specific to this show, but let’s not rule out sneaking it into extended previews for other shows, just to keep people guessing.) There’s also this brief conversation between young James Gordon, played by Ben McKenzie, and his rough-around-the-edges mentor at the police force, Detective Harvey Bullock, played by Donal Logue:

BULLOCK: This is very perilous stuff you’re messing with. Forget about it.

GORDON: No.

Not gonna lie, I kinda wish he’d been like “Oh, okay” instead. Would it have made the show worse? Yes, almost definitely. But it would have made me very happy for about two seconds, and isn’t that really what’s important here?

Anyway, this preview looks pretty good and the reviews of the pilot were solid. You have every right to be pretty amped about this show heading into its September 22 premiere.
