Things are a little dated in Jimmy Kimmel Live’s look at the new revival of The X-Files. It seems that Mulder and Scully aren’t as in touch with today’s technology as they would like. Both are clad in the worst wigs they could probably find on the set of Jimmy Kimmel, but it’s funny. And they decide to finally break through all that tension about being broken up in the revival and get down to business right in front of Kimmel.
I don’t know why they seem so frightened of a smartphone or why Mulder decided to pull out a huge floppy disk. I don’t think they were even a thing when the show was on the air. And if they were, you’d think a guy who has been abducted by aliens would know better.
It is a nice reminder that the revival is right around the corner. Nobody knows if it will be worth watching, but it will be nice to at least see Mulder and Scully back on TV. As long as it stays away from whatever happened in the later seasons, I think we’ll be just fine.
