The iPod Shuffle – Ghostface Killah And Raekwon’s “Never Be The Same Again”

Ghostface became a living legend based off being to New York gutter Hip-Hop what Dick Clark was to New Year’s. Aside from the machismo and rough exterior, O.G.’s have feelings too, you know? Possibly Hip-Hop’s equivalent to Uncle Sam’s “I Don’t Ever Wanna See You Again,” Ghostface deals with the fact his Queen (Lisa Raye) was creeping around. I can’t say I have been Ghost’s biggest fan throughout the years. However, the aspect about his music I’ve always appreciated was the vividness. Truth be told, a video wasn’t necessarily needed – but greatly appreciated – given the fact Pretty Toney painted a picture of hurt, anger and depression so well even Bob Ross would start a slow clap for.

“It’s alright though, maybe he came up with the right dough
Bigger dick, I don’t know, must have been the best flow
This thing here, every man in the world goes through
But fuck that, I put alotta money up, I’m hatin’!”

Now, that, folks, is some Grade A brilliant hurt rap right there. And I’m pretty sure this classic from Ghost inspired Joe Budden’s “Where Did It Go Wrong?” in some form seeing as how Mouse pondered the same possibilities why his better half checked out with another man. On a related note though, whatever happened to Carl Thomas? He was dope.
