Peyton Reed Is Down For An ‘Ant-Man’ Prequel

Yes, we know, Ant-Man isn’t even out yet, but it’s a superhero movie with a sense of humor, so really, we might as well just back a dump truck of money up to Marvel’s door yet again. And, in that spirit, questions are already swirling about Ant-Man 2, or, perhaps, Ant-Man: Origins.

Comic Book recently quizzed director Peyton Reed about the possibility of a sequel, and not only is Reed down for it, he’d also be down for Hank Pym to get his own movie. Interestingly for comics nerds, his exact words were, “There’s a lot of story to tell with Hank Pym.”

For those unfamiliar, Hank Pym was the original Ant-Man, but the movie stars the second version, Scott Lang, petty thief and electrical engineer. Also, Pym’s wife Janet appears to be dead, and his company is being run by a super-villain while he hides in a secret base full of surveillance cameras, so you know there’s some backstory there. How about a buddy comedy with Howard Stark?
