Klay Thompson isn’t the flashiest player in the NBA, even as he plays for the league’s most entertaining team. Make no mistake, Thompson plays with the overwhelming confidence necessary to be one of the best shooters on the planet but, given that he isn’t a high-flying leaper or explosive ball-handler, the All-Star shooting guard makes his living in a more under-the-radar fashion. To that end, ANTA describes the KT2 line as an opportunity to “pay homage to Klay’s calm, cool and collected efficiency on the court” and it is highly effective in its simplicity.
The lack of explosion in color scheme or pattern usage is somewhat jarring in today’s shoe landscape, yet it makes perfect sense for a player in Thompson’s mold. His game is predicated on efficiency and playing the numbers game in an overarching way, yet Thompson maintains the star status and a fan following that would make many jealous based on his stellar overall performance.
While March is usually reserved for the full-fledged madness of college basketball, the NBA rolls on and the Golden State Warriors are streaking again, even in the absence of Kevin Durant. Klay Thompson is a significant and valuable part of arguably the league’s best team and, now, he has the perfect shoe to represent both his easy-going personality and tremendous playing style.
