There was a time fairly recently when Stephen Curry’s offensive influence would be minimal if he was having trouble knocking down jumpers. Not anymore. Though Curry failed to connect from long-range for the first time in 76 games during last night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, the Golden State Warriors superstar was still able to show off his breadth of other skills – most notably on this sick coast-to-coast take that included leaving Danny Green in his dust with a behind-the-back dribble.
And he’s perhaps the greatest shooter ever.
Curry isn’t quite the one-man wrecking crew of Derrick Rose in transition, but obviously has the jets to prove a fast break threat. Six players are in front of Steph when he corrals the rebound and takes off the other way, yet he’s the first to the rim – even after being “slowed” by the obstacle of Green.
Not bad for a guy whose athleticism is supposedly average.
