Andre Iguodala Celebrated His Birthday Following Tiger Woods At Torrey Pines

One of the biggest stories of the week in sports was the return of Tiger Woods to PGA Tour competition at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines near San Diego. It was the first start in a full year for Woods following his fourth back surgery in as many years, but this time there was a significant bit more optimism than in the past.

Woods was able to make the cut on the number and see his first weekend tournament action since 2015, a big step in the right direction for the one time best golfer in the world. By making the weekend, Woods also gave Warriors forward Andre Iguodala the perfect birthday present.

After the Warriors’ thrilling 109-105 win over the Celtics on Saturday night, Iguodala swung down the California coast to Torrey Pines to take in Woods’ final round and even got to chat with the legend prior to play.

While Steph Curry’s love of golf is well known, Iguodala is a huge golf fan as well. The veteran and former Finals MVP regularly tweets his thoughts on whatever PGA event is happening on TV on his off day, so getting to hang with Tiger has to be up there with the best birthday presents possible. As you can see in the photo at the top of the post, Iggy also got to snap some photos with Jason Day and other golfers as he strolled around the practice area and the course on Sunday.

Woods didn’t produce much in the way of fireworks on Sunday, but a workman-like even par 72 to finish the week at 3-under for the tournament was far from disappointing considering last year’s return at Torrey resulted in a missed cut.
