Dwyane Wade Couldn’t Help Marveling At LeBron And James Jones Keeping Their Finals Streak Alive

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are headed to their third straight NBA Finals after dispatching the Boston Celtics in five games. For James and teammate James Jones, though, the streak is a bit longer.

James will play in his seventh straight NBA Finals when the series against Golden State tips off next Thursday, and former teammate Dwyane Wade was thrilled to see James keep his streak alive.

Wade — who went with James to four of those Finals appearances while with the Miami Heat — was tweeting up a storm about LeBron and the Cavs on Thursday night.

Wade’s hashtags say it all here. The four straight Finals the Heat made while James was in Miami truly was something, but to see him carry that through for another three in Cleveland really has been special.

Wade also sent out the most emojis about a James Jones play I’ve ever seen.

Jones himself is on a string of seven straight NBA Finals appearances: he came to the Cavaliers from Miami with LeBron. After Wade congratulated James, he made sure to send out a tweet scolding himself for forgetting about Jones’s achievement as well.

The Bulls (and former Heat) star seems genuinely excited about the Finals, which will be a third straight meeting between the Warriors and Cavaliers. While some have complained about the static postseason and its inevitable showdown between the league’s two best teams a third straight season, Wade says it’s what’s best for the fans.

He does have a point: the next four to seven games will be great. But it’s been a long while since either team has played a great game, and they’ll have to wait until June 1 to get it all started anyway. When it does begin, though, it’s pretty clear who Wade will be rooting for.
