The first game pitting Russell Westbrook against Kevin Durant has been under the microscope for some time, and with good reason. However, once the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors took the floor in Oracle Arena, an actual basketball game broke out and it was Westbrook’s unbelievable on-court ability that drew the attention within the first few minutes of play.
In the play above, Westbrook somehow finished despite effectively losing control of the ball in the midst of penetration and everyone involved seemed surprised but not fully shocked by the end result. The Warriors and, certainly, fans everywhere likely just shook their heads with disbelief, but when Russell Westbrook is involved, the seemingly impossible becomes remarkably ordinary.
