The latest X-Men: Apocalypse trailer was packed with plenty of pertinent information, but it still didn’t give us a terribly clear look at either the X-Men or Four Horsemen in their latest outfits. Well, much like they did with Days of Future Past, Empire is running a series of exclusive X-Men covers this month, which put the stars of X-Men: Apocalypse front and center in their costumes.
Scroll on down to check out Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), Professor X (James McAvoy), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Quicksilver (Evan Peters) looking very dynamic (and very purple).
I’d say, on the whole, everybody’s looking respectable, although they’re definitely overusing the black chest-protector look. Jean Grey and Nightcrawler in particular look a tad clunky. Also, Psylocke’s pantsless look comes off more than a little out of place when everybody else is sporting bulky combat gear. On the plus side, they finally came up with a suitably badass costume for Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, and Alexandra Shipp’s Storm totally needs her own movie.
The Apocalypse comes to a theater near you, May 27.
