Most heads probably haven’t heard of NO PANTY, but once they turn on this new supergroup’s “Hola” single, they’ll definitely recognize the game.
United by a shared love of blue collar NY Hip-Hop, NO PANTY is comprised of Bodega Bamz, Joell Ortiz and Nitty Scott MC, three respected MCs who have come together on this no-holds-barred track and beyond, simply to remind fans there’s still music being made with substance. The best part is, this unexpected rap squad is making noise in style.
“Hola” isn’t just a gritty banger that puts a stake in the ground, it’s a viable single with intoxicating production from Salaam Remi that could actually be marketed to the masses. There aren’t annoyingly catchy melodies and bubblegum hooks to sing along to, let alone a lick of Autotune. Instead, listeners are treated to tried and true verses from three poignant MCs, who deliver sticky street lingo that’s bound to have cats adding some Latin flare to their introduction game.
If we’re lucky, NO PANTY will get some Clear Channel love and start offering some versatility to the mix. After all, there’s only so many rappers who can sound like Rich Homie Quan.
