The ‘Power Rangers’ Movie Has Been Pushed Back To 2017

Not long ago, we reported that Saban was bringing another Power Rangers movie to the big screen with Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) brought on to helm the film that’s being executive produced by Roberto Orci. Lionsgate originally gave the film a release date of July 22, 2016 but according to IGN, the film has been moved out of the summer and will hit theaters on January 13, 2017.

No reason was given by Lionsgate for the move. However, SlashFilm reported the company’s plans for their 2016 summer season and they include a new Hunger Games and a sequel to Jason Statham’s Mechanic. We wouldn’t want Katniss, Statham, and our Mighty Morphin gang in competition for the top spot, now would we?
