Over the years, Adventure Time has enjoyed a comfy life as one of the most popular shows on Cartoon Network. So it makes sense that someone (or several someones) has considered the possibility of making a movie, right? Right?
Right. According to Deadline, the Adventure Time feature film is on the way:
Adventure Time, one of the most popular shows on Cartoon Network, is being developed at Warner Bros. for the big screen as an animated feature….The project will be produced by the winning combo of Chris McKay and Roy Lee.
Warner Bros., McKay, and Lee are all great names to have on board, but what about the creator? Never fear, for they’ll be there as well:
Cartoon Networks Studios will be involved in the production as will [creator Pendleton Ward], who will have some involvement in writing and producing the feature version.
Not since the announcement of The Simpsons movie has an animated series caused such a stir in the world of feature films. Adventure Time is a show full of fantastical creatures and situations that have been begging for a movie adaptation for years, so it’s nice to see it come to fruition.
