I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but if all it takes for post-Madonna Guy Ritchie to be at his best is repackaging old titles into exciting, stylish franchises, then let’s get this man scheduled with new gigs through the end of the century. The latest trailer for Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. doesn’t reveal much of anything that we hadn’t already seen in the first trailer – Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer kick each other’s asses in a bathroom, while Alicia Vikander proves to be the real hero – but everything from Hammer’s paper boy cap to Hugh Grant’s trademark grin makes it all worthwhile.
The only real question is whether or not Hammer’s paint-by-numbers Russian accent will grow old within a matter of seconds, but as long as we keep reminding ourselves of Jason Statham’s hair in Revolver, it will hardly be the worst thing that Ritchie has ever attempted.
