Remember Avatar? Also known as Dances With Blue People in 3-D to some people? Of course you do. And you also probably recall that director James Cameron has a whopping three sequels to the highest grossing film in history swirling around the development salad bowl.
After a long, long stretch of not knowing too much actual info regarding the plight affecting the next handful of installments in the series, Cameron gave an interview to EW in which he relayed some tasty nuggets on his massive project.
“I’m in the process of doing another pass through all three scripts right now…Just refining. That’s in parallel with the design process. The design process is very mature at this point. We’ve been designing for about a year and a half. All the characters, settings and creatures are all pretty much [set].”
Cameron also allowed that the expectations for Avatars 2, 3 and 4 will be on the high side, so “We’ve got to deliver.” That’s quite a bar to jump over considering the first film sits atop the list of highest grossing movies of all time.
Whether you liked Avatar or not, these sequels probably fall into the “must-see” category once they start hitting theaters in 2017.
