‘SNL’ star Pete Davidson took to Instagram this weekend to honor his late father — a firefighter that died on 9/11 — on the anniversary of his death. The comedian posted a series of pictures over the weekend with light-hearted captions thanking his dad.

“Can’t believe tomorrow is going to be 15 years,” Davidson wrote under a photo of a young him drinking a beer with his late father. “Missing the legend!!! Thank u all for ur kind words and support as always #werememberthem.”

Davidson also posted a picture of a beat-up pair of Sketchers sneakers that a friend of his fathers had given him to remember him by. Above it was placed a photo from 1993, the same year Davidson was born.

“One of my dads homies gave me his old dirty a– boots from work and a sick photo of him lookin like a young legend!!!” Davidson wrote in the photo’s caption before making a joke about his father’s choice in shoewear “Apparently my dad wore sketchers how f–kin embarrassing!!”

Davidson’s tribute to his father comes a week after some awkward jokes were made about his death at the Comedy Central roast of Rob Lowe. Even for a roast, they seemed to go a little far. Davidson took the jokes in stride, but even in a roast that included numerous uncomfortable Anne Coulter moments, they were arguably the most cringle-worthy moments to watch.
