Daisy Ridley Has A Special Message For Fans On ‘Star Wars Day’

No one is celebrating May 4, Star Wars Day, harder (“I’ll take a Blue Milk with a shot of Rancor Blood“) than Daisy Ridley. This time last year, she was an anonymous actress with only one film credit to her name; now she’s the face of the biggest movie franchise in the world. Ridley took some time off from Jedi training (like father, like daughter?) to wish everyone a happy Star Wars Day, and to talk about Star Wars: Force for Change, which “aims to support the immense passion and goodwill of our fans and promote change through inspiration, stories, and meaningful partnerships.”

Over the course of the four-week period, which culminates [at midnight], fans will be able to donate through CrowdRise.com/ForceForChange to [U.S. Fund for UNICEF in support of UNICEF Kid Power, American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Make-A-Wish] and have their donations matched dollar for dollar up to $1,000,000. All participants who donate will also have a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Ireland, including Skellig Michael along the Wild Atlantic Way, the location of the dramatic final scene from The Force Awakens. A measly $10 gets you one entry ($20 for two entries, $30 for three, and so on) for that trip to Ireland, where, I imagine, BB-8 is waiting for you like Luke was for Rey. (Contest not valid for Life Day celebrators.) Here’s where to donate.

May the Fourth be with you.
